Here at Knowsley, the wildlife on the safari aren’t the only amazing animals we’re lucky enough to have about! Woody and Buzz are two up and coming dressage champions we’ve been sponsoring over the last few months, along with their rider, former Knowsley Head Girl, Emily Perry!

Back in September, Buzz, Emily’s own horse, qualified for the National Championships at medium level – he was only 3-years-old when Emily started working with him in 2011, and he took the competition in his stride despite only competing at this level for such a short time. Out of a class of 40 people, Buzz came in at an impressive 2nd place, and he was only 0.05% off the first place spot! That was such a close one, we’re certain Buzz is going to knock it out of the park in his next competitions.

But Buzz isn’t the only horse with a sterling record. Woody is 4-years-old and blazing with promise! Back in August, he officially completed his qualification for the next Regional Championships after achieving two consecutive 1st place ribbons in two competitions! Congratulations Woody and Emily! We definitely think he’s earnt a little bit of down time after all of his success this summer – after all, he is still young and needs plenty of time to grow into the refined dressage champion he’s proving himself to be.

Woody and Buzz wont be off the clock too long though. Both boys have plenty coming up, and we know they’re going to continue rising through the ranks with their spectacular performances. Thanks so much to Emily for her time with us at Knowsley, we’ll certainly be keeping an eye out for her and Buzz at future competitions!
